Love at First Sight Adoption Program

Love at first sight is a non-profit program developed by our staff to help find GOOD homes for unwanted puppies and kittens. Here are some frequently asked questions and answers.

Where do our puppies come from?
Our program is promoted throughout our community as an alternative to taking unwanted puppies to the Humane Society. We accept only healthy puppies into the program. Owners of unhealthy puppies are required to provide medical treatment to their litter prior to acceptance into our program. All puppies are screened for internal and external parasites, and appropriate de-worming medication is administered. Adoption includes all vaccines and spaying or neutering prior to the puppy leaving the adoption center.

What does it cost?
Owners of the puppies being presented for adoption are required to have the mother spayed by one of our staff Veterinarians at the time puppies enter the center. Cost of the spay for the mother varies with her size and to some extent with the number of litters she has had. The adoption fee for adopting one of the puppies is $69.00 regardless of sex. This includes all vaccines and the spay or neuter of the puppy.

These funds are placed directly into Love at First Site's trust account. When other pets are presented in emergency situations, such as hit by a car, or illnesses such as parvo virus infection, we draw on these funds in order to provide care to these patients.

How about Kittens?
Unfortunately we have had much more difficulty finding homes for kittens, so we only accept a few kittens at any one time. We do accept limited numbers of kittens into our Adoption Program, so please feel free to call.
